#26/4: Black + White

Deeper Conversation

It's been awhile since I blogged here and since I had quite an interesting day today, it deserves a post of its own. I started the day by waking up late, yet despite leaving for work slightly later than usual, I am able to reach work just on time. Plus, Wednesdays usually mean a terribly full carpark, but today God provided for me one =) (even though it's quite far away...a hint to workout perhaps?).

Anyway, new boss came in yesterday and we spent yesterday rearranging the furniture in the office so that we accommodate everyone in such a cramped space. We are in a tight squeeze but we managed, so it's all good. Today was spent briefing the boss about how things were conducted, felt so weird though, having to explain your own work to a superior. I kept fumbling upon my words and didn't really know what to say.

Moving on, we then headed to head office for operations meeting where I thought it went pretty okay despite a few remarks from the big boss. I felt slightly braver in speaking out eventhough I looked like complete idiot with a death wish for questioning the big boss. Hah! But it was obvious that I am now a nobody as my new boss was whom the big boss communicated with regarding the center matters eventhough I was the one doing the reporting this time around. Oh well, I'm not complaining, I prefer to be the behind the scenes person than the one in the frontline.

It was kinda frustrating when I had the urgent need to go back but boss had to meet some people first then took his time to say goodbye. He meant well and he didn't know about my intentions plus I did say I was okay with waiting, so my fault for not speaking out for myself. Boss has big ideas and is quite an organised neat person, the complete opposite of me whose table looks like a natural disaster aftermath. I must admit that having his cubicle behind me is quite unnerving as I feel as though I'm on parol. Anyway, I shall, not mention company politics here but by golly, the working world is a cutthroat ruthless world where nobody cares for anyone else but themselves. Sheesh, where's the fun in that then?

So after work, Going home was quite atrocious as the jam was backed up all the way to TTDI. I was supposed to meet up with some girls from RYM so I wasn't sure if I could make it at the agreed upon time. I rushed home, got ready as quickly as I could while squeezing in some time to enjoy a Frap, thanks to Amanda, and managed to talk to them as well before rushing off to pick Karen from LRT then rushing off to Tropicana City Mall.

We reached slightly after the agreed upon time, managed to have a looksee at Kitschen before going for dinner at Papa Johns with Evie & Veronica, we missed Stephanie though. Between the four of us, we finished 2 12inch pizzas which is equivalent to 4slices each, we were stuffed!

We had great conversations, ranging from catching up on our daily lives and work to RYM to HIV & special needs to controversial topics. I don't know about the rest of you, but I can go on & on about deep philosophical controversial topics, and thanks to Evie, I thoroughly enjoyed tonight's conversation. We had so much to talk about, that we adjourned to Tutti Frutti to continue talking over frozen yogurt (is it just me or has it gone up in price? =S)

As much as we would have liked to continue talking, the mall gave us our cue to go by shutting off their lights. We wanted a final group photo (conversations too awesome that we forgot to camwhore), but since the lights were off & self-timer failed, we asked the staff who kindly took it for us & even turned on their lights for us to get a better picture.

us girls
The picture turned out blurry but kudos to them for their efforts. We then parted our separate ways to head home. I had time to watch an episode of Law & Order with the parents, squeezed in a mini rant bleargh with mum, before everyone tucked themselves in while I squeezed in this blogpost =P

What a lovely night it was! So yes, thank you Evie, Veronica & Karen for such a great night which was much needed & thank you for the honesty that brought on such fulfilling conversation topics. I hope for more to come. Stephanie, you simply must join us the next time =)

 Goodnight everyone!

One of the good days, the happy days, that deserved a blogpost, a refreshing change from all my brooding nonsensical stuff.

PS: picture credits go to Evie =) thanks you!

#13/4 Something you Found

I kid you not when I say I found the ring I'm wearing on my ring finger. Until today, I'm still trying to figure out what is inscribed in the inside of the ring. And until today, it remains on my finger.

Whoever who left it, thank you for such a great find!

#12/4: Stairs

These are the stairs I sometimes walk up when I have the time, energy or mood to.
The stairs I visit a few times each week to collect the office mail.

for even the deepest darkest shadows
need light to exist
so fear not of what lurks in the shadows
knowing that light is close at hand

366 photo-a-day by fatmumslim

If you look back through my posts of 2012, you would notice that i have pictures posts cropping up out of seemingly nowhere. My secret? I have been scheduling my posts. What is the purpose of these pictures anyway, you ask? I am currently taking up a 366 photo-a-day challenge for 2012 =) I may not post them on time, but I am going to try and make sure each day has one picture.

I get my lists from fatmumslim then I participate and post up whenever I find the inspiration to. I try to post a little description along with the photos. I don't want to end up taking random photos for the sake of fulfilling the list, but i want that each photo is somehow connected to me in a way, even in the littlest of way.

If you're interested, jump on the bandwagon then =) I got hitched on thanks to Chloe =)

Let's hope I get to cross this off my bucket list - to complete a 365 (or 366 for the year of 2012).

Have fun glancing back at my posts to find them pictures. Or else, look at my pages at the right -top hand corner for the full lists and links.

Enjoy! =)

Love,
Mandy
