Be Careful What You Wish For

i once dreamt of a girl so dear
held her close and kissed her too
had her at a tender age
just her and me with no man in sight

look at me now
single mom and proud
a baby girl from a runaway dad
its funny how God make dreams come true

i once wished for an everyday
goodmorning howareyou goodnight
takecare missyou icareforyou
gorgeous beautiful pretty

makes me realize
beggars arent choosers
for you get some you lose some
nothing seems enough

i once thought
that when everything is going good
something bad is waiting to happen
and things are too good to be true

lesson learned
never take God for granted
nor ever put Him to the test
for God fulfills & by golly, does He!

so right now today this very instance forward
tread carefully and think wisely
never throw around wishes and dreams
for you never know what or which might be granted
