.S.T.O.P.

STOP.

all the lies.
all the deceit.
all the pretences.
all the backstabbing.
all the fake stories.
all the procrastination.
all the abuse.
all the expectations.
all the orders.
all the pain.
all the misery.
all the fear.
all the emotions.
all the feelings.

STOP.
all things concerning me.

.I don't give a damn anymore.

so STOP.

hush..a secret.

hush...
someone's got a secret.

hush...
a secret you musn't know.

a secret.
what secret? *eyebrow raises*
I simply must find out.

seal your lips,
close your eyes,
listen closely.

you'd hear it,
beyond the distant noises,
a whisper barely audible,
silently secretive.

A secret is a secret,
one must never share,
for once told to another,
the secret is no longer there.

tattoo...?

Its been playing on my mind for forever,
no matter how much my mum tries dissuading me,
I want to get one!

Why?

  • I want to be able to say that I was able to withstand the pain and get myself inked.
  • I want to able to show my pride by tattoos.

But,
on several conditions:

  1. I don't get it for the sake of getting one.
  2. I get something that really says me!
  3. I think thoroughly about the details-what?where?truly?

several words to describe me:
.shy.introvert.sex.innocent.guilty.sinful.pride.proud.love.mandy.kristen. amanda.worthy of love.follower of Christ.ex-depressed.out of sorts.

so, with that, I thought of:

  • my trademark picture, (haven't thought of color or shadows yet)
  • a cross
    • why? cause I'm proud of being Jesus' child.
  • a multicolor (rainbow) barcode with my name -A.M.A.N.D.A
    • why? cause I'm proud of my name and I like the color variety.

next stop, where?

  • barcode : nape of neck
  • trademark : base of spine? back shoulder? stretch around my waist? ankle?

so yea, here's to hoping that I really do get one.

gender stereotypes

Funny how there are a set of unspoken rules,
that dictate what girls and boys can or cannot do,
what is proper and improper for the two sexes.

who do you think when I say dolls?
what about eyeliner?
or cooking and housework?
GIRLS?

I say bull----!!
that means guys don't play with action figures?
that means all the cool sexy hot rockers with their lined eyes are sissies?
that means Jamie Oliver and all the wonderful house-husbands out there are lame?

I say not!

or what about this?:
what do you think when I say:
pilots? cars? football? rolling in the mud?
GUYS?

I think not!!
what makes you so sure that girls can't do what guys can?
some girls are even better football players than guys.
some girls are tougher than guys too.

why must girls be the ones subjected to wear dresses?
why is it not appropriate for guys to shed tears?
why is it such a crime for people to act like their opposite sexes?

I say that,
I salute those who do,
I have my utmost respect for those who break these gender rules.

.I say to hell with this nonsense.

Judgement unavoidable...

Judgement.

Who are we to judge another?
Who are we to pass remarks?
Who are we to criticize?

But, WE CAN'T HELP IT.

I think that - its built in within us.

Even before we speak to someone,
our minds are already summing up the person,
already constructing first impressions.
We try not to, but it has already crossed our minds.

I often question the advise column,
who are the writers to give such remarks and advise,
based on a single sheet of paper inked with problems?
Do they know the whole story?
Do they know the other person's point of view?

Same goes for judges in hearing trials.
how can they sentenced someone,
based only on what was presented?
based only on what was argued?
who ARE THEY-to judge?

Yet, they do their best.
they advise based on what was written.
they judge the situation and feedback based on it.
the make ends meet with what is given to them.

So I say judgment is inevitable.
judgement is part of our lives,
whether we like it or not.

SO, i say,
TRY not to judge,
but if you really can't not judge,
then judge appropriately,
after given MUCH thought.

troubled waters...

when you're feeling,

sad, down, and blue,
angry and frustrated,
who do you turn to?

  • your bestie?
    • I'm sure he/she has troubles of their own.
    • and you can't keep running to them for everything,
I'm sure they'd get tired listening to a broken record after awhile.

  • your parents?
    • what if something are meant to be kept from them?
    • sometimes, they think too practically.
    • besides, you really wouldn't want to worry them.

  • your friend-with-benefit?
    • you don't bring emotions into this relationship
    • they can distract you, yes. but they can't help ease how you feel.

  • your partner?
    • sometimes they don't see things the way you do
    • you really wouldn't want to worry them either.

  • God?
    • Yes, I find solace in the quiet silence of Him.
    • but, sometimes, I need to hear someone speak to me.
(maybe I'm not listening hard enough)

  • to a diary?
    • it helps, yes, to sort out your feelings. but it won't help ease them either.

I am feeling sad, down, blue and battered right now.
and I feel like I can't turn to anyone.
I need to talk to  someone.

Freeze was a blast!

MOB SQUAD!!!

it was so hilarious!!

imagine poor ol' Lot 10
at exactly 2.30pm,
empty as anything,

was PACKED with hundreds of people..
all waiting for the orange flyer..
guards were at their best attention as to why the sudden surge of people.

once we got it,
it was like all hell broke loose.
those who packed the scene,
fled the very next minute.

left for Pavilion.
the freeze scene.

at exactly
3.25pm.

time stood still.

everyone froze on the steps of Pavilion's center concourse.
from people hugging each other,
to people on the phone,
to me posing..haha..

5 minutes later,
cheering broke out.

it was so fun!

check out Random Alphabets for the details.

Tactless & Nerve-Wrecking

how do you live with yourself??

think.
about what you have to say,
what you're saying,
how you say it,
and to whom.

for if you-don't,
you might actually hurt someone.

if you don't have anything nice to say,
keep your opinions to yourself,
keep your degrading thoughts to yourself. adobepix2
for forget not:
- one man's meat is another man's poison.

take note: learn some tact!

and especially- save yourself the humiliation,
stop trying to be sarcastic.
you can't pull it off.

sigh..you're a nice person.
unfortunately,
there are times
when I just CANT tolerate you.
you just get on my nerves so bad,
that you drive me up the wall.

I guess, I've no choice,
- but to live with you being so.

I wonder who I'm referring to? =P

One BIG obstacle course

one HUGE boundary overcame.
(lots of small little hurdles to leap over within that boundary)

  • research
  • reports
  • presentations
  • speeches
  • meetings
  • mid terms

One more Challenge to cross
(three smaller parts to this challenge)

  • Bio Psych finals (6 chapters; lots of memorizing to do)
  • Social Health Psych finals (6 chapters; lots of understanding to do)
  • Mass Comm finals (6 chapters; lots of studying to do-due to truancy =P)

Plus, other needs to be fulfilled...
(which I can't specify here)

oh well, I just want to get this race over and done with =P

unbelievable!

some people are just unbelievable.

people are definitely not who you think they are.

you think they're the sweetest person on earth
and BAM! -they stab you in the back and gossip about you.

you think they're the most innocent being ever.
only to find out- they're sleeping around with EVERYONE!

you think they're so kind when they offer you help.
when actually they've just gone round in circles,
and left you with more work than before.

you think they're so cool.
little do you know-they're freaking insecure deep inside.

you think they're telling the truth.
think again-they're lying behind your back.

you think they'd cover your back in times of trouble.
you wish!- they'd drop you like a hot potato.

so next time you get chummy with someone,
think twice.
before deciding to spill you guts out.

everyone has a skeleton in their closet.
you just don't know it.

Singapore =)

as you may or may not know,
i went to Singapore on the weekend.. =)

lets see..what did i do?

went with my family
for my relative's ruby anniversary

departure was at 9.20am at lcct
barely got a wink when it landed at 12plus..

got to Auntie Nan's place
only to drop our things off
..and head straight to Orchard road by MRT
*haha*
their train system is SO systematic i tell you!!
and the escalators are so much faster than the ones back home
imagine this, they even have a pathway for the blind..

*drools and ogles at clothes there*
-as some clothes are not available here at malaysia-
*looks at price tag, conversion, faints*
*grudgingly hangs back onto shelf*

met up with Denise (cousin from dad's side)
then heads back to auntie Nan's place to get ready for dinner
*feet are aching by this time*

Venue: Meritus Mandarin?
Guests: A whole lot of EUrasians! haha..lots of family too..
Food: DElectable!!!
- this i gotta stress on
  • appetisers: salads, cold plates, sushi, oysters, mussels, shrimps
  • main course: baby pork ribs, ravioli, chicken rice, ..cant remember what were the rest..
  • roasts: lamb, whole ham leg..
  • dessert: choc fountain, imported fruits, preztels, choc mousse, pralines, truffles, cakes..
  • drinks: champange, beer, chivas cola, sprite, coke, water, coffee, tea..

(i went about four rounds, was stuffing my face...food was too good to resist)
Events: had the bridal party recollection, dancing, toasting, basically..just partying the nighyt away =)

it was awesome..

after which we went to uncle Vernon's place to knock out..
his place is so amazing..the view, the setting...wow!! (Carribean)
woke up the next day for church..
(omg..the church was beautiful!! its apparently one of the oldest churches there, but it was fitted with aircons and plasma tvs on every wall..i of course was too tired, thus dozing off in church..)

after that, went to Vivo City to shop!!
had breakfast at a "kopitiam" -yummy french toast
was practically dying in Pedder Red -love the shoes there!!!
couldnt shop much so splurged on sweets and chocs instead =)

had lunch at auntie Nan's place..
yummy food yet again..sigh

then headed off to Vivo city again..
was walking and walking..
...and walking...

had dinner..
then took MRT to Changi airport..
flight at 9.20pm

was exhausted by the time we got back home..

so that was my adventure at Singapore =)

*note to self: must convince the gang to go sentosa one day!!*
